Sometimes we hear that Piedmont Park is a “cliché” place to take photos at, but we honestly still haven’t gotten tired of it! There are so many cute little spots, and we always seem to find new angles.

How Allegra and Marcus Met:
“We met online. Bumble to be exact. We then met in person in the highlands , on Marcus’ birthday. We were each out with our own friends and guided our groups to where the other was (at a bar called Hand in Hand which actually no longer exists). “
Allegra & Marcus’ engagement session was super fun. We went to Whiskey Bird first. It’s their favorite restaurant to hang out at! The staff from Whiskey Bird were super friendly and let us take these sweet photos. It’s a very photogenic and modern place in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia. See them on Instagram @whiskeybird.
They brought their favorite card game, “The Game” by Pandasaurus Games. You can even see Allegra cheating a little while pretending to drink! hahaha 😂 And Isn’t her ring just stunning and timeless!?? It’s from Brilliant Earth (@brillianearth)

We found also a super cool veggie wall right next to Whiskey Bird! And guess who’s a vegetarian? Allegra and Marcus are! It’s part of their love story, Marcus actually because a vegetarian thanks to Allegra. They both love it.
Their engagement story:
“We got engaged after only 9 months of seriously dating, and Marcus says that it would have been sooner, but I wanted to know him for a year.
We were on a New Year’s Trip in Mexico with Marcus’ friends (now my friends too). It was about 11pm on New Years’ eve and Marcus asked me to go get a picture on a bridge overlooking our table.
I didn’t think anything of it, because we had been trying to get a good picture with decent lighting for both of our skin tones all night with no luck. ( We needed Meli and Chris there!!!!). But when we got up there, he got on one knee with a gorgeous ring and just said he didn’t want to go into 2019 without me!
It was simply perfect.
We kind of have picture, and a lot of out friends were watching and celebrated with us afterwards.”
Engagement Session at Piedmont Park | Atlanta, Georgia
After having lots of fun at Whiskey Bird and the Veggie Wall, we headed out to Piedmont Park for even more fun, and the sunset! It would be an understatement to say that it was the dreamiest, most perfect lighting (every photographer’s dream) ✨✨✨
It’s always our suggestion to do the engagement session close to sunset, and if you choose to do a full engagement session (1.5hrs), you will have plently of time to go to a few spots and also change outfits.
Why they are perfect for each other:
Marcus says “We’re like the same person”
Allegra says “And I’d have to agree. We like the same foods, same entertainments, have the same mix of introvert vs. extrovert. I can almost always count on Marcus being ready to go home if I am.”
What they envision for their life together:
“Fun, carefree traveling with good food and laughs! Also, good careers that we both enjoy. We want to retire by the beach with a bed and breakfast that has a mini restaurant with vegan food and a yoga studio.”
Chris and I are always encouraging our lovely couples to be themselves during the planning process of their engagement session. Bring your favorite games, your dorkiest jokes, and don’t be afraid to laugh!
